Cosplay is a mixed word for Costume Play.
It basically means to copy a character, most likely of one from mangas or animes, to dress up as and share with others.
Cosplay in Japan became so big that Hollywood stars, such as Gwen Stefani (with Harajuku Girls) and Kanye West, have been influenced by this art.

Tokyo's Akihabara District

-There are great amount of the Cosplay Cafes, such as maid cafes or Anime character cafes.
These cafes are so popular that often times there are long lines just to enter the cafe.

-Every Sunday at the Jingu bridge there is a gathering of Cosplay fans.
Thousands of people attend to show off and share each others Cosplay outfits.

Japanese Anime and Manga has become so famous that tremendous amount of works have been spread all over the world, mainly Korea or Japan.
These works also have been published as J-Dramas (Japanese) and even K-Dramas or C-Dramas (Korea and China).
